Cactus Octopus:

The home of underestimated artists.

Our Mission

We’re driven by the power of art and stories. We believe that art is for everyone and know how much artistic potential lies within us, waiting to be unlocked.

We’re a social enterprise open to every person of all ages. Whether you’re new to art, see it as a source of relaxation or want to build an artistic career, we’ll equip you with the tools to express yourself.

Many up and coming artists struggle to be heard, but it’s important to stay confident and proud of our achievements. We were lucky enough to have met people who encouraged us to keep going. Now we want to return the favour and be someone’s guiding light and number one fan.

Our Name

Cactus: One of Sakura’s strongest memories is of a cactus in her childhood home, which grew to be as tall as the two storey house. The cactus bore scars of her name that she had scratched onto it when she first learned how to write. It symbolises: resilience, strength, a constant presence, and wearing your scars proudly.

Octopus: Sakura’s notebooks would always be covered in doodles of Octopuses. The 8 independent legs were a source of fascination, especially as it gave them the ability to be able to do multiple tasks at once. It symbolises; multitasking and being a fighter yet graceful.

The fact that they rhyme was a happy coincidence.
